But please consider Care2.com, too. Care2 is a great community of "do gooders" that has evolved continuously since its founding 11 years ago. The focus is on taking specific, concrete actions to make a better world. There are petitions, pledges, Click-to-donate causes, eight "cause channels" (blogs with action opportunities), e-cards, a Digg-style news network, daily e-alerts on 30 different causes, healthy and green living tips, job and volunteer opportunities, etc., etc. (Full disclosure: I work for Care2, leading the team that partners with about 400 leading nonprofits to bring actions and content to Care2's millions of members.)
