Corruption, rising political destabilisation, pollution, social injustice, human rights and international law violations. These are just some of the major issues of our times. However. For the first time in history, We may not only have the legal background to achieve a better human society, but a powerful tool to claim those rights as well. Social Media and Internet as such.
“What can be done?” and “How can We use the wast amount of existing free or low-cost applications and software solutions to promote and achieve change?”, “How to expose wider public to the truths and information resources that are already available online?” Topics like Wikis, Folksonomies, Social Media, Open Source and so on will be all discussed. As well as architecture, design, urban development and business.
The Gutenberg Revolution (Invention of offset printing and wider distribution of knowledge) started an nonparallel progress in natural sciences 500 years ago. With the down of the Web 3.0 We may now expect a new revolution. This time in field of social sciences and wider human interaction as such. This revolution is already in progress. The era of mainstream media supporting the “secret dictatorships” hidden inside the western democracies may soon be over. We may face a new reality very soon, but as you can imagine, it will not happen on it’s own but by participation of millions.
I am not pretending to be an expert in anything! I am just “one in million” trying to participate. I want to make the fruits of my research on-line available to wider public, together with my personal views and ideas on how to implement those technologies and knowledge in practice.
How to find new ethics and new values in our decadent and chaotic present? How to use available free or low-cost technologies, to support parallel economy free of corruption and social injustice? How to connect with others with similar mindset? How to use social media to face real world social challenges? How to spread the message and not bother the people around us too much?
These are just some of the questions I would like to address on my site. On top of this I would like this blog to be a good resource of information for those who would like to find out more about the above mentioned issues, and embark on a journey of citizen activism themselves.
